Mounting:
MOLLE/PALS compatible via two long and two short MALICE clips (included). Can also be mounted on webbing or belts up to 2.75” wide. Two overlapping Velcro straps for mounting the GPS pouch vertically to the shoulder strap of a pack.

GPS compatibility:
The GPS pouch is designed for the Garmin Montana 700 700i 750i series of GPS units which are about 7.2” tall x 3.6” wide x 1.3” deep, but it will fit any other GPS unit that fits within those dimensions.

Protective stiffeners:
The front and rear panels feature internal HDPE plastic stiffener sheets to protect the GPS unit from bumps and sharp objects. The sheets spread an impact over a wider area offering better protection than soft thin padding alone. Behind the HDPE sheet in the front panel is a thin layer of EVA foam for additional padding.

Antenna opening:
At the top of the pouch is an opening that allows the top antenna of GPS units to protrude. It can also be utilized to route headphones, or other wires. The opening can be completely closed by the nylon cover piece provided.

Pouch opening:
The 3 sided dual zippered clamshell opening allows the pouch to be opened out and down horizontally. An internal paracord drawstring suspension system is used to adjust the exact angle at which the pouch opens when fully unzipped. Each end of the paracord drawstring goes through a small Hypalon tab then it is knotted. The knot can be retied to lengthen or shorten the cord. A drainage grommet at the bottom of the pouch body allows drainage of water, sand, and other unwanted debris.

Internal GPS unit retention:
The GPS unit is secured internally by the antenna opening at the top and the Velcro backed transparent retention strap at the very bottom. The design allows full access to the GPS touchscreen. The GPS unit can be easily removed and replaced by unfastening the retention strap.

Other applications:
Although designed for GPS units, the Emdom Montana 750i GPS pouch and its features work well with other devices such as mobile phones, digital music players, digital cameras, small two-way radios, etc. As an alternative to using the included retention strap; a piece of adhesive backed Velcro hook panel can be glued to the back of an item which would allow it to be secured to the internal Velcro loop lining of the pouch.
