Please visit www.militarymorons.com for a detailed write up and additional photos (Note MultiCam product pictured is older version with non color matching material).
Mat:
Optimally sized to not be too small or too big. The mat is large enough to lay out the parts of a dissembled AR carbine (See photo below). The KitMat can be utilized as a shooting mat or for other general purposes but it is primarily designed as a work surface for dissembled weapon’s components. The edges of the mat are finished with seam tape.
Small parts area:
In one corner of the mat, near the right side pouch is a 6" x 4" area of loop Velcro. Included are two 3" and two 4" lengths of 1" wide hook Velcro with sewn over ends. These are for securing small springs, pins, and other small parts to the loop Velcro area to prevent loss. The four hook Velro strips store on the loop Velcro patch when not in use.
Pouches:
The KitMat has two 9" x 3" x 1" zippered pouches that can be opened out flat. Inside each pouch are 420D Cordura compartments. All internal compartments are pleated at the corners allowing them to expand. The left pouch has two 4" x 3" compartments and in the lid is a long 9" x 3" compartment with Velco closure. The right pouch has an identical 9" x 3" compartment in the lid and a full length compartment at the bottom.
To roll up (see detailed photos below): :
One method is to fold the KitMat in half (lengthwise) with the pouches facing outwards, then the mat is rolled around the pouches, when completely rolled up the two shock cord loops are wrapped around each end. An alternate method which has the pouches on the exterior allowing easy access is illustrated in the photos below.
