Mounting:
MOLLE/PALS compatible via two included short MALICE clips and two included long MALICE clips. Mountable on webbing or belts up to 2.75" wide via two included short MALICE clips.
Dimensions:
Measuring 3" wide x 10.5" tall x 2.5" deep; the Fire-Ex Pouch is designed for the FireAde 2000 16oz. personal fire extinguisher, but it will accommodate most other fire extinguishers of similar size (i.e. First-Alert Tundra). It will also accommodate the 24oz. Liberty Works bottles, most 20oz. water bottles, etc.
One handed top access:
The Fire-Ex pouch features a dual zipper top opening that extends half way down both sides. Sewn into the interior top of the front of the pouch is a snap secured 1” wide webbing pull tab. For immediate one handed top access the interior pull tab is snapped to the external tab and the zippers pulled up as far as possible. To extract the fire extinguisher, the pull tab is grasped and pulled outwards (not down), this will unsnap the closure and pull the zippers apart allowing immediate and unobstructed access. If not needed, the interior pull tab can be folded inward and the dual zipper opening closed completely.
One handed bottom access:
The bottom access flap has an angle built in which - when opened - guides the fire extinguisher and allows it to drop until the edge catches on the protruding webbing ridge near the end of the flap. This prevents the extinguisher from rapidly dropping straight out the bottom. The flap is secured with Velcro and covered by elastic. The 1" wide webbing pull tab is secured with Velcro to prevent snagging. Once opened the flap does require two hands to reset under the elastic cover. ( Note that when mounted, extracting the fire extinguisher should be practiced.)
