Mounting:
MOLLE/PALS compatible via two included long MALICE clips. Also mountable on webbing or belts up to 2.75” wide via two short MALICE clips (sold separately). PALS/MOLLE mounting grid features 0.875” webbing for easier weaving of MALICE clips.

Versatility:
The AK/M4 Double Magazine Pouch can be utilized as a conventional Velcro cover flap closure pouch, open top friction/tension fit pouch, or as an open top bungee retention shingle pouch by removing the cover flap, installing a length of shock cord, and adding a pull tab.

Passive Retention:
External elastic band provides retention for up to two AK-47 (7.62mm) or AK-74 (5.45mm) 30 round standard capacity magazines. The elastic retention band maintains good retention without obstructing access (read below for details). The AK/M4 magazine pouch will accommodate two US PALM AK30 magazines as well, but because the AK30s are thicker, the fit is tight.

Adjustable/detachable cover flap:
Can be adjusted for height to accommodate one or two AK-47 or AK-74 type 30 round standard capacity magazines while maintaining full hook and loop Velcro contact. On the underside of the cover flap are two lengths of webbing which help to keep AK magazines centered and prevent them from sliding side to side and potentially slipping out. Corners of the cover flap have been tapered to prevent snagging and allow quick and easy stowing when unobstructed access is needed (read below for details). A bartack strengthened pull tab allows fast and positive access to magazines with a single gloved hand. Cover flap can be removed completely if not needed.

Unobstructed Access (See detailed photos below):
To keep the cover flap from interfering with access to magazines it can be folded inwards and tucked into interior cover flap retention strap behind the magazines. Exterior elastic retention band is strategically placed in the middle of the pouch body so it does not compromise the pouch opening which allows for quick and smooth extraction and insertion of magazines. The cut of the pouch body exposes an adequate amount of the magazine for a sure grip while still being high enough to support the magazine(s).

Double duty:
The AK/M4 magazine pouch will also hold up to two standard capacity 30 round AR-15/M4/M16 magazines of various types (USGI, HK, Magpul, Troy, TangoDown, Lancer, etc.). The cover flap would need to be adjusted shorter to accommodate the shorter AR magazines with or without Magpul Ranger Plates, Magpul 5.56 NATO Magpuls, or other magazine accessories. Since the AK/M4 magazine pouch is taller than the Emdom M4 Double Magazine Pouch there is less of the magazines exposed. However there is still enough to gain a secure grip on the magazines. Also the taller pouch body does provide a more secure hold on magazine when in an open top configuration.

Feature packed design:
The foldable bottom of the AK/M4 magazine pouch allows the pouch to be completely flattened when empty. To maximize available PALS real estate; there is no protruding binding tape around the edges of the pouch, thus preventing overlapping and/or deformity of pouches when mounted side by side. Drainage grommet at the very bottom of the pouch allows drainage of water, sand, and other unwanted debris.

Minimal bulk and weight:
Cover flap and mounting platform are each constructed of a single layer of material. PALS/MOLLE mounting grid composed of 0.875” wide webbing instead of the traditional 1” wide.
